moment of life fixed on photo, with a story behind that turned into a film
moment of life reanimated as paint, a painted moment, fixed or not fixed: during the process, it was moving with the brush, in the painter's inner mind
It was only fixed after the brush stopped to add further memory strokes

moments

fractions

of a scene

re-recorded

as paint

from sketches

made while rewatching

some favourites scenes

Ipad as a screen

to remind myself

of slide lectures seen

in Fine Arts Building of the U Of A

attending lectures of Renaissance figures

admist darkness

appreciating

sildes of

famous paintings quickly noted

years later

I lived passionately in and out

those moments of intense joy

found in the living museums of Florence

no longer slide shows

but original works shown

The passion for some old Hong Kong films

reignited also in a similar kind of way

due to the invention of IPad screen

and the unexpected stationed

of years

lived like a hermit

in the outskirt of Rome

To paint and not to paint

to draw or not to draw

to be a painter or not to be a painter

to see or not to see

to remember or choose not to remember

of a life

lived so full

given so much

Some answers

surprisingly

are seen in the chioce of a subject matter

or subject matters

such as the revisit of my childhood

through memory, photos

or moments lived by the others

in scenes of the old days

a Hong Kong never ever remade

but ever and forever

remade

as one's inner memory

A caress

A celebration

A big thank you

to the scenes of films

that accompanied my visual inner life

all these years

while alone

in the seemingly attractive other SCENE

of the City of Rome

I began a journey of painting YOU

on uncommon surface

such as that of an oriental kind of umbrella

as if to suggest

a rebirth of a soul

that was missing

but is refound

( works shown here were done in 2016 )
