On gigantic pencils

poem by Yen Shu, Sung Dynasty

a new song
a cup of wine
poem by Yen Shu, Sung Dynasty a new song a cup of wine
yesteryear weather
yesteryear weather

pavilion of yestertime
pavilion of yestertime
sun once set
whence
is its
returning
act
sun once set whence is its returning act
it is inevitable
it is inevitable
to avoid the fall of petals
to avoid the fall of petals
like the swallows
of morrow
like the swallows of morrow
are friends of old
are friends of old
in this little garden
in this little garden
upon quiet path
upon quiet path
do I alone
do I alone
back and forth
back and forth
back and forth
back and forth
imprint my trace
imprint my trace

( the transformation of collected items and utilised them as part of a poetic installation came after a waiting period of months or years; the scupltures began in 2006 and only repainted to match the rest of the poetic group of 'colored pencils' in 2015. The poem written on the gigantic pencils was an afterthought- after the path of walking along the posted-pencils was formed; particular poem seemed to precisely describe the inner mood of the installation )
